Oh LOOK, another person wants a Barracuda
« on: January 17, 2017 - 06:10:21 AM »
I'm just going to throw it out there.. I figured this is worth a shot.

This is what I'm looking for..

1970-72-73-74 Plymouth Barracuda (HAS TO RUN AND DRIVE RELIABLY)
I'm not a fan of the 71's styling, but if the price is right..

No swiss cheese, dry... hold the mayo..

I'd love for it to be as close to stock as possible..
I'm really not concerned with numbers matching..

Id love to have a 70 FJ5 Limelight car..
I wouldn't mind another year done in Limelight if it's at least a 10 footer..
If it's a semi clone to a 70, that would be pretty nice as well..

Non vinyl top car, I dont even want it on the fender tag..
Last vinyl top coded car I had was removed and holes bondo'd over, it cracked and I had a mystery leak.. Fool me once...   :faint:

340 or larger engine, 4bbl (don't want a 6-pak car)

I dont want a shaker hooded car..

4 speed manual - Drive train numbers matching isn't of concern to me.
I'd like it to at least be an original 4 speed car..

If 1/4's were rehung, I'd like to see pictures before prime/paint if possible..
I dont want to slam the door and have a 6" thick bondo chunk fall off of it..  :roflsmiley:

Options I would on the car that would be a huge plus for me..

*Power steering
*Power disk brakes

Not holding my breath for this one...
*Air Conditioning

My father had a large dealership sign in the garage back in the 80's of a 70 Cuda in FJ5 Limelight with a black 340 hockey stripe.
I saw it every day till the late 90's.. Parents divorced, moved around, dont know what happened to the sign..

I wont make any sort of emotional purchase, depending on price,
if its over a certain amount, I will be sending someone to inspect it.
I want a fly out and drive back car.. If it needs anything more than a battery, it's not for me..

Til then, I'll just read the posts and learn as much about these cars till I find my car..

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your guidance...

Welcome Chris!  Quite a few cars for sale out there to choose from, one thing you didn't mention is your budget?  Getting a round tail light car will probably save you some coin!

On the other hand, you're lucky you're not into the 71s. One of the highest-priced musclecars around right now.

If you like the look then you might want to look into an AAR hood.

Yeah, I will..      If the price is right.
First things first..
seatbelts (doesn't have any)   speedometer (doesn't work)      drivers exterior door handle (currently on passengers floor)
Steering is loose, brakes pull a little bit..      all that good stuff...      :)

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? I've been hoping I haven't overpaid for mine.
