Radiator number question
« on: January 22, 2017 - 02:36:06 PM »
I have a 70 Challenger RT 440 matching numbers but the radiator was replaced at some time back. I would like to find an original radiator or one I can take the tank top off of. I don't know what number to look for. Can you help me?

There are a number of possibilities depending on options.... 4 spd or Auto? A/C? Gear ratio?  Got a broadcast sheet?
this are all possible...

Sorry I did not give you all the info you needed. It is an automatic, non a/c and 3:23 gear, got a partial broadcast sheet.

On the sheet row 3 about half way across should be a box labelled Rad    three digit code is the last three of the pt #... If thats not present check the radiator support, 3.23 Auto no A/C the std cooling system gets a 22" radiator which is 2998960... All the optional cooling systems get a 26" radiator..

Thanks, I don't have that part of the broadcast sheet but she does have the original core support so I will check that next time I get her down from the lift. I believe she has the 26" rad.

Update. it is a 22" rad but the only number I saw on the core support was the vin number on the top. Where would the rad number be located?

Theres no number on the radiator support but as I previously mentioned with a 3.23 gear no A/C & an Auto the std radiator is a 2998960 which is a 22" & takes a different core support that all the other options...
