2013 Chally R/T no start
« on: January 29, 2017 - 03:05:12 PM »
Hey, So My challenger sits too long through winter. Most of the time its ok, No problems.  I get it out enough.  But apparently not this year.  It won't start.

Crawled in through the trunk,Couldn't get the engine studs to pop it with jumpers.  And it won't jump start either.  Heard of bad batteries. So took the old one in and had it tested.  (batteries plus)   Ha all they could tell me is it was low.   So I got it on the charger.    But I'm anticipating a new battery.

When I try and jump it, It goes to start, but then all these lights go on and says 39 on the dash.       not in park.     It's a 6 spd.    Hmm.

any ideas out there?

popped in a new battery and she fired right up.    Only thing is the windows don't go back up automatically after you close the doors.   Hm.

There is a window reset you need to do when the battery is disconnected.check your owners manual,I believe there is also a steering reset too.

I'm not surprised, Mom's Benz seems to be very sensitive to low battery, even though the dash light lights, door locks worked I couldn't even jump it off... Tow truck man had a high end jump box that started it, took to the dealer & all they could say was the battery was low, that's been a month now with no other issues. Not the first time something like this has happened in 4-years

I'll just add this. Don't cheap out on jumper cables. I've saved a couple of people that were using cheap cables. The cables aren't big enough to carry the current needed to start your car. Once I put my cables on there, they fired right up.
