« on: February 01, 2017 - 05:28:33 PM »
Title says it all guys. What radiator are you guys running in your E-body Gen III cars?
What side do the in/out lets have to be on, and how big are they?

Thanks for the help in advance.

I bought the Bouchilon custom radiator by Griffin with the inlet and outlet on the passenger side just as the engine is set up. It's not cheap but nothing on this swap is.

Buy their upper rad hose but the bottom doesn't fit, so I just bought a '70 cuda hose and trimmed it a little and it fit perfect.

Another option is the Radiator House Icebox rad. It's about the same price as Bouchilon but is darker and looks more stock. This is the radiator Graveyard Carz put in their '71 Cuda.

One thing to note, if your hook up the fans to the mopar wire harness they will not turn on until 228ish and off at 215ish. This pretty much pegs my temp gauge. I talked with the mopar engineer that designed this harness and he said that's the normal op temp of this engine. It's too hot for me, so I'm taking my Cuda in to a local tune shop to adjust that setting via a HP Tuners software update that is now available for this PCM.

Not sure but this is the hose.

You also need an overflow tank.

WOW, that's an awesome price. Are you happy with it? Do you just call champion radiators or do they have a web page?
Thanks again.

Go through eBay. They all come polished aluminum, but I painted mine.

I used a standard 26" big block radiator that I had in my garage. Bought a flexible top hose from Oreillys and used the stock bottom hose from a Chrysler 300 that was still attached to the 5.7 when I bought the engine.

That looks 26", right?  Mine was 22" and I could not find one that fit without modifying the rad support.  Also, the last thing I wanted was any kind of heat issues with this engine.

You should have just put in the 26" radiator conversion piece if you don't want cooling problems. Everyone uses A/C now and the piece is only $99. Then you could buy the 26" big one.

Looks good. Did you have to modify your firewall for the Gen 3 install?

Thx
