71 'cuda 340 shaker base plate mounting
« on: February 02, 2017 - 08:31:12 AM »
looking for some helpful info,

71 340 cuda, installing 4 barrel base plate for shaker setup, all aligns properly other then front drive side support bracket off of cylinder head is about 1 1/2 inches away from the angled bracket welded to bottom of intake base plate. the pass side lines up perfectly.
is there a spacer, or a off set bracket that is suppose to be used?

does the base plate only mount in three places, center carb stud, and the 2 front brackets that mount to cylinder head corner?

because of the off set heads on a 340, (driver head farther forward on engine block then passenger side) I ended up drilling out the welds and moving the driver side brace bracket on the shaker base plate forward 1 1/2 inches. now it fits. and lines up nicely.

The shaker "legs" I have seen, have a long slot with a bolt in the middle.  This allows the legs to be slid in or out, then the bolt is tightened to keep the length that you need
