Something missing from Shaker base ?

Is there something missing ? I never paid much attention before, but started wondering what the two small holes (1 each side) were for that's near the front of the opening.

Just the seal, I'm not sure what the holes are for.

That sure looks like where one of the doors go. Not sure, but think that is the hot air door opening.

Yup, it buts up to the thick gasket.

There are two doors in my photo, the lower one mounts to the base, same three screw locations....

So it does... Never owned a shaker & haven't worked on one in years... Sure looks like that door goes against the seal in the base...
