    You're right, but that mould tells me that there's been water issues in that thing and I'll bet once you get into and under it, you won't be so happy.  :nono:

     IMO, The vinyl mold may be from the heating up of a cold garage and causing condensation mixing with dust continually with the lack of cleaning. Oxidation on the steering wheel and valve covers seem to suggest it to me. I know if my garage temp is 20-25° and I open the garage door to let in 45-50° air I get condensation. Either way though it's a recipe for rust and rot.

    It's surely out of my price line, but before looking at it, I think I'd request trunk and frame rail pictures along with title information.
    Low clutch peddle=diaphragm clutch sitting since '83?

    Would be a good deal if he gave better pics of the underside.

    I can tell you right off the bat you have to replace one quarter panel, if not 2.

    Problem being is where you start will most likely put you over the value of the car at the end.

    That's exactly right and everyone who's gotten into one of these things can vouch that you'll find 2-300% more rot than what you initially thought there'd be. Throw in some trunk and floor pans and the frt inr aprons, etc. etc. and unless you're able and willing to do the work yourself, you'll spend at least as much as you would for a solid, done right car. This is what I call the Barrett Jackson effect where every guy who has a rotten old car now thinks it's worth a fortune, "'cause I saw one like it go for..."  Yeah, right.  :nono:
