Intake manifold

I'm thinking about putting a 4 barrel carb on my stock 318. It's a calif car and has an EGR yvalve. If I replace the manifold that doesn't have an EGR valve will that affect how the engine will run (idle, accelerate etc)? Thanks.

I would say you would only notice a nice increase in performance!!!
Back in the 70's - EGR technology was very basic and killed performance.

Won't hurt anything to pull the EGR and get rid of it. No difference in running really, if there is a difference it would be for the better.
