cuda rallye dash and gauges
« on: February 17, 2017 - 01:38:23 PM »
really trying to dial in to what parts I will need to complete the gauge set up for a 71 cuda with a rallye dash.

I have most parts I think but do not know what is needed as the car had nothing in it when I acquired it.
I have gauges, plastic housing for gauges and side panel , new face plates with "woodgrain" faces, and the
housing that gauge mount into (pic I know is a non rallye version), lenses and transparent indicator discs w tubes.

some pics of this assembly process or anything would be great help.

There's a 3 post jumper that's needed too.

Do you have the hi beam light tube.

I don't see any mention of the woodgrain backing plate

I can't see any speedo grommets on the housing

Don't forget the lens mounting pins

You need a clock cable too and the reset knob for it (same as speedo's one)

For what it is worth, I have a digital voltage limiter which I bought for a project.  I am not going to use it and will let it go for $30 shipped in US paypal.

PM me if interested.

That's actually the same one I have put in by a previous owner.

just a thought..... now would be a good time to do the amp gauge to voltmeter conversion.  i would not put an amp gauge back(well known weak point.)  :2cents:

ok, good, good. ordering a pile of these parts, as the dash is next!

question: I have the black plastic housing for the gauges... it has the metal plate on it that appears to have glue on the front (and tabs that go through the plastic housing and look factory twisted in place.)
I then have the "wood grain" steel backed plate for the gauges, how does this "wood grain plate" attach to the backing plate?

The little metal tabs on the wood grain cover attach like you said they go through the slots and you twist them, and the tabs on the bottom get bent upwards.  I don't use glue on mine!

Doing a search comes up with a bunch of threads on this topic, here's just one example.

how about the face disc for the quad gauge setup?
does anyone have this available new, or is used the only route?
