I removed the heater box, so have the entire inside firewall on passenger side

67, that is not an option for me, I want to keep the kick panels in place and original in cut. Cuda bob removing the heater box makes the car illegal on the street in this country

Sounds like you need to just put it where you initially proposed.

Yeah Goody, its been a right PITA, the conflict between trying to keep the car in tact as original as possible, have my cake, and eat it as well :screwy: I could simply remove the passenger kick panel and mount one of them there, maybe mount the other under the drivers seat :dunno: :dunno: but then I'm conflicted with getting all that cabling out through the firewall through two separate hole so as to keep shielding and separation of ignition and EFI without punching any additional holes in the firewall and so on.

130F isn't super high I would have thought, thats with a regular sport hood, I intend on fitting an AAR hood for air cleaner clearance so technically that should help with adding some cooling to the engine bay as Im no going to seal the air filter off to the hood 100% as original,,,,, :dunno: :dunno:

I'm using a single hole for all of the wiring to the engine. I have done so in the past with no shielding/noise issues.

A small plate between the ecu and the engine with gold foil or the like will help reflect a lot of radiant heat.

awesome topic - I just began going thru this, this past weekend - will be installing ez efi system in the not too distant future - one of the first things mentioned in the directions is to use a 2" hole saw and make an opening thru the firewall....cough, cough, excuse me......do they not realize many people upgrading to aftermarket efi have no intentions of butchering up their old cars, especially if somewhat rare, etc???????? I personally detest the look of ignition boxes and ecu's in the engine compartment and need to look at ways to hide this stuff also......

You can run a smaller hole for the cables but you'll have to pull the pins from the ECU connector, feed the cables through the smaller hiker and poke the pins back into the connector again, the manuals also specifically state to keep the inhibition wiring from the EFI wiring

There are only so many ways to get wires and connectors through the firewall..that is not really a problem EZ EFI has ignored.

A 2" hole is not something that is irreparable. My car must be really "butchered" up.
