External Oil modifictaion recommendations

My 470 has an oil pan leak which really sucks right now.  I will still drive it, but it needs correction.  My plan is to buy a Milodon road race pan (31581) which has the internal pick-up for external oil modifications.  I was also looking at the Milodon 21814 pump and either the either the 21205 or 21215 covers, both of which are factory type oil filters.  These parts cost $525, $275 and $275 (roughly) plus possibly a the pump drive which cost $175.  (not sure if this a must purchase, but need to consider and check).  So here is the alternate:

Road Race pan stays:  I have a n Oberg external oil filter already. I was looking at the 440Source kit: http://store.440source.com/Billet-Aluminum-External-Oil-Pump-External-Filter-Version/productinfo/200%2D1102/

This pump set up allows me to use the Oberg, it is $150 and I do not have to use a different pump drive.  NOW - What are your all thoughts on this and which direction would you go, why?  have you used this or what would you recommend?

What are you doing that you feel you need an external oil system? 99+% of street engines are better off with a internal pickup...

I figured the 470 puts about 550 out, rolls to about 6400, track time, spirited driving and some roads courses.  Thoughts?

I think external oiling creates more problems than it solves... Prone to loosing prime, prone to leaks, Stock engine mounts interfere with hose routing, unless you really need it I'd look at using the melodeon road race pan with the internal pickup, maybe do the 1/2" pickup but most guys say it isn't needed... If your concerned about that not being enough put an accumulator system on it.... BTW accumulator with a electric shut off is great for cold starts... Flip a switch, watch the oil pressure come up then fire the motor...

I have the Milodon road race pan on my 451  with the milodon internal pickup in the stock block location. No complains here...
I'm somewhere between 550-600 hp.....

Thanks you - I have the 440 Source Hemi re-pop on there now with a windage tray.  Always seem to be a bugger getting them to seal up.

I've fought many Mopar rear seals, from full on leak to a small drip, this last one I did differently & so far with 2K miles it's absolutely dry....  This time I rotated the seal halves 90 degrees, I eliminated the side seals & filled the groove with "The Right Stuff" & used Loctite 518 on the block/retainer/bolted surface...   I also used one of the Summit molded rubber gasket/windage tray combos     https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g2340

Thanks - I was looking at the same windage tray from Jegs.  I like how you explained it, this is a brand new motor and I have leaks at both front and rear.  I did not like 440 sources windage tray in the past, so why I used another one is beyond me.  I will go up and get the Summit version you listed and do a quick gasket change.  I am not sure if the rear seal is leaking, so I will try the pan first.  Thank you.
