1970 R/T S/E Challenger
« on: September 12, 2002 - 10:33:10 AM »
This is what I have for sale: It is a 1970 Challenger R/T S/E. VIN#  JS29N0B******.    It is a 383 four barrel and auto in the floor.  It has been sitting (outside in the weather) since 1978 when it hit a telephone pole with the driver’s quarter.  The car was then parked and nothing done to it.  The paint is faded and the vinyl top is long gone ( B5-Blue with white top and stripes). The driver’s back floor pan is rusted out, but the other floor pans are good. The trunk has some small holes in it. The passenger quarter has a few rust spots on the lower half as well as the rocker panel. The driver’s quarter does need replaced.  The driver’s fender has rust on it under the hood (where it bolts on).  So does the bottom of the driver’s door and  the kicker panel.  The frame rails are good. The grille and front valance are in nice shape. The chrome tips are missing.  There is usual rust on the firewall like most E-bodies have.  The interior needs redone and everything is there except for the overhead console.  It does have the ralley dash.  I have started the motor and it has some stuck valves but it does run for a brief minute. ( The factory tach was working when the motor was running)  I do not know how the transmission does, for I have not tried to move the car it has flat tires.  From what I have gathered about the car from the owner since 1976, the motor is original except for the carb and headers. The trans is original, but he did put a quick shift in it around 1977 and he has not done anything to the rear end.  I have the title that was issued on Sept. 28, 1976.  The odometer reading then was 11,500 miles.  Today the odometer reads 18,251 miles.  From talking to the owner of the car that is the true mileage on the car. He drove the car on weekends until he wrecked it, then it sat.  This car is worth redoing because of the type and mileage.  Here again, this car does have rust in it and  is in need of total restoration.  Asking $3,800.00   Pics available upon request.

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry for the delay but after posting this ad my computer took a dump on me so I am using a friends to check the mail until mine gets fixed.  I am located in Richmond, Va.  I will try to figure out a way to get the pics for everyone.
