    New Charger Ads - WTF??

    Last night, during the Sick Fish Cuda episode of Rides on TLC, there were a few new Charger ads.  The one with the bikers is fine, but there was one with a black guy getting into a Charger in a parking structure, and some RAP song kicks in, and the black guy is drivin around town listenin to this rap tune about the Charger.


    WTF??????

    Just who are they trying to appeal to with Rap music as an Ad???  You wanna sell Toyotas or Hondas to rap or dance music, fine...appeal to your demographic, but not alot of Tuners are looking for a heavy 4-door RWD V8.

    Sheesh!

    At least have the guy listening to some Stones or even Whitesnake would be better than rap!!

    True I am not a big fan of rap eiter some beats are OK.
    But, you should do some reaserch, you'll be mighty suprised as to how many people rap reaches. 35 yearold buisness men, doctors..... ;)

    Since when were tuners and rap synonymous with each other??? Tuners are people that like 4-cyl and that commercial was not trying to appeal to them. The reason they were using rap and a black person was to appeal to the "rollin' on dubs", loud stero systems, type of person. The reason DC is doing this is because of the huge success of the 300 in the urban community. The 300 has become the flagship car for the average person lookin to "pimp" there ride. That commercial is one of the smartest things DC could have done to boost there sales......

    Sell it to everyone    I hope they make 250,000 Charger RT's and 50,000 SRT8's    that means cheap junkyard hemi's    :burnout:

    425hp 6.1 liter hemi's in old mopars  :thumbs:

    I'm not familiar with the Dub idea.  Around here, the only 300's are driven by well-off executive types.  I haven't seen any 300's with 'spinners' or 30" rims.  

    What I am concerned with, is the idea of Chargers banging around with the "Pimp My Ride" treatment.  If you put neon underglow, massive waginwheel rims, and a 600000watt stereo in your trunk, you could be Dodge Material.

    (btw..just to be clear, I'm not in ANY way suggesting that DC not market to anybody but white redneck folks, so don't anybody take my comment that way...it was just the rap that seemed out of place)

    and trust me, you are going to see new chargers with huge wheels and "pimped out" - can't help that.   :-\

    Ahhh, now I understand what you were thinking. Where I live, there are probably a dozen 300s and even a few Magnums with 20"+ rims. I hear people all the time talking about the 300s and how they want to put 20"s or 22"s on them.....But I do live in a extremely diverse community, so that my be why.
