Charger Shifter Question
« on: June 29, 2005 - 12:45:18 PM »

Do Dodge Chargers TorqueFlite console shifted cars have the same style of shifting pattern as the Slap-stik??  :???:
Do they detent or can you shift from 1st - Drive because it's just a normal style?  :dontknow:
Are all years the same? This is for a 1968 Charger.

Thanks.

This is NOT a Charger website!!!    :stomp: :stomp: :stomp:

I'm giving you crap NZ.  :grinyes:

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if you can drive an automatic like a manual shift? Yes, if that's the case.

Hey Mike,

Sorry....ummmmmm, can you shift it hard by slapping shiftying it and it will only go one gear at a time, realease or pop back by itself the shift again. Like the slap-stik mechanism??  :D When I went for a drive in the 69 up north the guy looked like he was shifting up a few times but went a little to far and had to ease it back into the previous gear, aka NO detent.  :-\ I need detent.  :grinyes:

the Slap Stick can be used in a Charger but the shifter is mounted further forward & the slapstick uses a much shorter handle
the factory Charegr shifter is not like th eslap stick with a rachet function
BTW this is not a Charger site  ;D
