    Which Carb For My Mopar Small Block 340

    Hi Guys

    I've decided on a Street Demon carb for my 340 Small Block. My question is which one? I have a slightly modified 340 MOPAR small block. You know cam, intake the normal things. Nothing outrageous. The P.O. build the engine and it ran very strong prior to me removing it to paint the car so I don't know the specs. All that I know is that it was upgraded a little and it felt like it was. Why a new carb? A buddy needed one so I gave mine to him and then he moved away so carb gone. No biggie I didn't expect to get it back and I was happy to help him.

    Like I said I've decided on the Street Demon for it's plug and play features, reliability (so it seems) and ease of use. I'm not sure if I should go with the 625 CFM or the 750CFM. The 625 doesn't seem like enough. Although could the 750 be too much?

     I'm leaning towards the 750 CFM. What are your thoughts? Thanks

    Street carb 340 to 6200 rpm is suggesting 518 cfm... using cfm calculator on your links

    Race carb on same is suggesting 670...

    How do you drive it most of the time?

    I'd lean toward the smaller one...

    I’m definitely not banging the gears like when I was young and stupid.    :roflsmiley: It’s a weekend cruiser other than the occasional fun from time to time.

    I have a 650 cfm on my 340 and am quite happy with it...

    The two that are shown are a 625 CFM and a 750 CFM not a 650 CFM.

    72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

    1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

    I have a 640 DP for my 340 stick.....I have headers, Lunati cam (warm one), and an intake....I havent driven it yet..but thats what almost everyone said here and the guy who built the carb agreed.

    I have the same set-up with a 650 Eddy and it runs great. I'm also bored .060 over. :burnout:

    Edelbrock 650 AVS for my 340. It is a drop in and ran great. I will have a Holley 800 Ultra to go with the stroker rebuild. I have no use of the Edelbrock now and it is available for sale. Not sure how much it is worth but it only has less than 2000 miles on it.

    Yup... Completely understand... was just letting you know I am running (an eddy) 650 cfm, (and have cam, intake, and headers on a 70 340 with the higher compression) and have no complaints with that CFM for mostly cruising and some occasional silliness...

    Ooops!

    Actually, I am running a 600 cfm Eddy performer 1406... Sorry about that! Still no problems at all and happy with how it runs!
