CudaFun - So not sure what the end results is wanted, but the little 440 you have has large potential in my opinion without having to go to great $$$ expense.  If your looking for HP, I would keep it simple, 440 Source heads, send them to IQ52, little roller cam, steel head gaskets, headers, performer, convertor and gears.  Oh and if you want to wamp those 505's/512's, this little 440 will handle 225 of nitrous without issue.  (Have you seen how thick those cast pistons are??)  MSD locked out with a digital box?

I went with the 505 build mainly to retain some iron on the block. Like chess moves there is literally thousands of combinations you can choose from with building an engine. Mine is close to being buttoned up. I have Performer heads being CNCed as we speak and trying to locate a victor intake as my dual plane shouldn't be needed with the grunt the stroker will make. Guess I can put them both on the dyno and see which one she likes. When you're ready, get a thread going, these guys are always happy to give advice and help you out. Until then, start squirreling your money away for the big day. Once you start, you usually spend way more than what you wanted to. After all, it's not everyday you get to build your dream engine.

:iagree:  I will do that and get a thread going once I decide which way to go.  Thanks!

To be honest, I'm looking for the best value and going with what makes the most sense for long term drivability.  I'm not planning on swapping out engines or engine parts after this build.

I like the idea of a fire breathing 600 - 650hp machine but also want there to be some longer term reliability with the motor.  I'm going to use the car for street use and won't take it to the drag strip other than once or twice a year if that.  So with that said, I'm perfectly happy with 500hp or so for an adjusted reliability factor.  I have called multiple shops in my area and have received quotes from $2500 for a stock motor rebuild all the way to 10k for a 512 stroker build.  I have also contacting the major crate motor companies and have received prices for complete motors that are a great value.  I'm a couple months away from deciding on the engine scenario so I will definitely keep everyone updated.  Thanks.
