Engine Mounts
« on: March 07, 2017 - 08:01:46 PM »
I am looking for new engine mounts for my 340 LA stroker motor, coming soon. Based on other threads, most people go with the Schumacher PolyLoc but their website shows out of stock for sometime. In an older thread, one member mentioned Mitymounts from Dynatech Engineering. It looks like they have a locking mechanism when motor mount is in tension, similar but not the same as Schumacher. Cost wise is cheaper as well. Are there any members using this mount? Any feedbacks?

have you looked into these?   http://www.manciniracing.com/maheduenmo.html
I haven't yet but was thinking these were the most bang for the buck...

hard to gaurantee any mount will not break.
polylocks have broken.
I've used stock mounts and a Schumacher torque strap for last 20
years with no probs.

I use the mounts that bullit linked to. My 440 tore the factory style, replaced with mag.  I'm impressed with the mag mounts. No fitment problems

The mag mounts certainly price right, less than half the cost of the others. However with a bolt through design it might short circuit the rubber isolator and transmit more vibration. I spent hours to wire brushed my old brackets and they are nicely painted. Something to think about for sure.

I use the mag mounts from Mancini on my 340.  In for 7 years or so.  No vibrations and haven't torn despite plenty of  :burnout:

Another vote for Mag Mounts from Mancini.  I installed these on 3 engines, big and small block and have had no issues.

What I have done n the past is to install a simple flat bar strap from the engine ear bolt across the rubber mount to the cross bolt , this makes a torque strap that is virtually invisable that prevents the rubber mount from separating . Simple to do .

I've just purchased a set of spool mounts for my LA/factory k member 73 Cuda from Schumacher, they are now making them as a direct replacement for the biscuit type OEM mounts
