He's a very dedicated Mopar nut...The metal sculpting is actually done by an old craftsman that he employs.... The man builds incredible stuff & finishes it to an amazing level..  Old world skills that likely will die with him cause most young men/women? will want to do such hard work.....

I concur completely. When I ordered it I thought "It'll look a lot like a TA scoop, and that's probably close enough." When I got it, it was a dead ringer.

My favorite Challenger hood is HP2's hood. It's kewl.
If you want 'WoW' factor, not many Challengers with an AAR scoop.  :2cents:

I agree. The image of the car is so dark that I thought for years it was a Cuda. He was the precursor of the Hellcat

It was made by a guy named Domingo in South America, I want to say Peru. He made a lot of steel custom stuff back in the day; I think he was selling through Harms for a while if I recall correctly. I know he made a second one when he made mine, but I don't know what happened to it (that's been about 7 years ago, so it may have sold).

EDIT: I just looked and I do still have his email if you'd like it. Nice guy, very easy to deal with.

Here's a pic of the steel scoop just sitting on my 73 flat hood. Tony did a quick spray of primer just so I could see what it looked like when it came in.

This is kind of a dumb question. after looking at your photo, how is your paint guy going to get complete coverage under the scoop? Rick is also communicating with Domingo to see if he has any more in stock.

Tony would be able to answer that better than me. My answer is that I'm way more concerned about what it looks like on the outside. On the inside, hitting it with a thick coat of whatever organisol-alternative we come up with, or even for that matter Rhini-lining, is fine by me. On the inside I just want to keep it from rusting and not look obvious from the outside :-)

One thing that may not be clear, though, is that Tony is making a box structure on the underside of the hood that I can use to seal with an air cleaner (NOT a six pak cleaner but a single 4bbl Air Grabber baser) to create a fresh air system. This will give him access to most of the inside of the scoop from the bottom.

Let me know what you hear from Domingo, even if it's through Rick.

That box idea is pretty awesome to create a seal like that!

Might be easier to modify the 6-pack base that seals to the hood with a single 4-bbl opening?

I thought about that, but first I'd have to buy a 6 pak base to modify. Since neither the hood nor the air cleaner are what they were "meant" to be, I'm going with cheap and seeing what I can fab up.
