318 intake advice

So I have a 340 block and crank I'm going to build one of these days. I've been saying that for five years now… right now I am running the stock 318 and it's pretty worn.  It was my daily driver for a few years up until a year ago so I use the hell out of it.anyway it has a pretty severe intake manifold leak at the heads and I'm thinking about replacing it with something I'll also be able to use on the 340 build.

What are my options for something that will work well on the 318 but will also be appropriate for the 340. I don't want to sacrifice anything on the 340 build for the 318 but I will need it to run in the meantime. To put it another way, I want to pull 350 to 400 hp out of the 340 so I want the ideal manifold for that and I wanted to work with the 318.

I'll mention I am using an Edelbrock 650 CFM carb and plan to keep it.

I would go with the RPM Air Gap from Edelbrock in all honesty. The downside will be minimum is any compared to the upside you will feel to the 340 with it installed.

 LD340 is great also
 Alum M1 repro of the stock intake works great too

Thanks guys that's what I wanted to hear. I think I will go for the airgap. I would really like to find an LD340 but those are so freaking expensive these days if you can even find one without issues.

Check out the after-market air gap type manifolds, too. I think Pro-Form makes one, as I think that's the one I bought for my own down-the-road engine build and it was a lot cheaper than an Eddy. Just my  :2cents:
