5.7 hemi with MDS, can you by-pass it?
« on: March 09, 2017 - 11:37:24 AM »
I can get my hands on a 5.7 hemi core engine with MDS, is there a kit to bypass and or block MDS solenoids??

I don't want to disable it but I want to use the motor in a classic car, can you remove the solenoids and plug the ports with something because someone said engine will only run on 4 cylinders if MDS is not hooked up.

Yes there are blockoff ports available. I believe they are 6.1L and early 5.7 parts.

Your ECU will likely need to know if it's OEM.

So the early non-MDS hemi blocks had provisions for MDS solenoids with block off plate in them?

Would you have to change lifter then too?

Correct.

I'm not sure on the lifters but do not believe you "have" to change them.
