I'm not a big "Forum Guy", but I appreciated and used this forum as a visitor many times. So I'm a newbie here......and wanted to let you all know that I posted my numbers matching BS23 on Bringatrailer. Feel free to slide over there and at least keep some of those commenters honest. Who knows, you may come away with a sweet car......its an auction, but my guess is that it sells for less than $50k.

No problem selling overseas......I have sold Ebay cars to Belguim, England, Holland, and Poland, but I am not a Dealer.   I must let the Bringatrailer auction run its course, so I recommend signing up to bid with them.

Now that you knowledgeable folks have viewed the auction, what do you think it will close at?  If it doesn't make reserve,  I will be posting it here for sale first.

That was my first time on that site. Nice car by the way! Little odd having all those people adding peanut gallery comments at the end of the ad though.

I couldn't tell if you have a reserve on it. Hopefully you do. I'd be afraid it would only go up to half its real value. In my opinion, that's a 40k car but the trick is finding someone with that much cash in hand ready to pull the trigger. I watch lots of different cars on eBay that only go to half or two thirds the right price and I personally believe you have a limited group of buyers in that price range. If it were a 10k car, it would probably bid up to that every time since more people can pull that kind of cash together.

As far as it's true value though, I'm probably not the best person to venture an opinion. It it were truly perfect in every way and correct original, I'd say around 50k.

That's exactly what I was thinking.  I do have a reserve in alignment with your numbers, and of course BaT wants to keep the reserves low so they actually get their 5% commission for the sale (paid by the buyer).   The site started 10 years ago just to comment, banter, & pick apart cars for sale, then it morphed into the auction site. A lot of the old commenters have bailed.  It takes a thick skin to be a seller (my first with them), and they have a certain cache of cars they do well with (Mopars are on their fringe if you ask me).  Their auction rules are fair & tight unlike eBay.  We'll see, but I think their cars have a way of getting value without too much drama.

I have used eBay as a means of free advertising and it works for me. It gets seen nationwide (or worldwide if you want) and the cars I've sold have actually sold after the auction. One good example was when I had my Superbee on eBay with a reserve of 28k and it wouldn't go above 24k. After the auction ended, I was contacted by a guy representing a German buyer. Once the guy took time to see and drive it and send tons of photos back to the actual buyer, the deal ultimately went through close to 30k. Everyone was happy and I actually felt better because I didn't have to worry about the guy getting it later and being disappointed. Since his guy in the states inspected it for him, he knew it was legit.

If I was buying something nice and expensive on eBay, I'd make the effort to inspect it personally. If I was buying a project car for a low amount, I'd probably roll the dice without seeing it first but ultimately I'd want to pick it up in person and make final payment in person as well to protect myself.

I think there is always value in shaking hands with the other party. Also gives you a chance to make sure paperwork is good, no parts missing, etc...maybe he lets you have extra parts he don't need or sells them at a fantastic lot price.
