Good Voltage Regulator?
« on: March 25, 2017 - 05:25:17 PM »
A couple years ago I had a regulator go bad and mess up a lot of my electronics. Today I saw the voltage jump up on my voltmeter a couple times and the tach started acting weird. Because of my previous experience I want to change the regulator again. Is there a good quality brand I can buy? Some kind of aftermarket upgrade?

I've read that a poor connection of the Blue wire going to the regulator will cause it to call for more voltage from the alternator.
You might want to check with a meter to see if the voltage there is the same as at the battery & if not where it is being degraded.

I got one from ebay and it was bad right out of the box. Went to NAPA and bought there best one, still says made in China on the box. But works fine.
