Actually I'm not surprised they aren't reproduced. It's a complex, expensive part to make and the demand isn't nearly as great as for the '70/'71 stuff. Heck even the '71 grille isn't reproduced. Funny enough, they made fewer Challengers from '72 to '74 than they did in 1970 alone. Total production for 1970 was 76,935. Adding '72-74 you get 62,230. Technically, a 1974 Challenger of
any kind is more rare than a 1970 R/T, they only made 11,354 '74's. They made 13,796's R/T's, and that doesn't include the R/T S/E's or convertibles.
Anyway, if you figure on at least a 50% attrition rate that means you're probably talking about less then 30,000 72-74 Challengers left. That may be optimistic too. And then throw in the folks like me that convert the '72-'74 models with 70/71 bodywork and grilles, and the demand for reproducing a '72-'74 header panel doesn't look so good compared to the tooling costs.
