That can be a tough one. I've got parts of 3 of them and made one out of them. The fender lip and lower bolt flange are notorious for being damaged/missing and you need to be able to do some fibreglass work on most any you find. To the best of my knowledge, there are no aftermarket one available, but I stand to be corrected on that. The mounting studs also like to back out, but that's not the be all or end all and can be dealt with. Good luck and hopefully, someone will have a spare.

Contact Tony's Parts.  I seem to remember seeing some in his swap spot over the years.  His stuff isn't cheap.  It will probably be in really good shape though.  I don't think he typically sells damaged stuff.  I've never seen any reproductions.  The same piece was used for three years.  There should be plenty of them out there.  Finding one that isn't cracked is the harder part.

I went through this last year. As near as I could tell there are no repops.  Tonys has them listed sometimes but when I called they weren't available. Some come up occasionally so be vigilant and ready to jump when you see one. Expect some cracks.  I have my old one, it was sandblasted (by mistake?) so it would need to be re-gel coated.

If you find one try and make sure the attachment brackets behind the headlights are included. these are even harder to find.

Good luck.!

I have one. Not perfect by any means, all of the mounting locations are there but it has had a couple cracks repaired. Would take a little work but it's totally fixable. Shipping it would be a pain, where are you located?

What brackets are you talking about that are behind the headlights?  :clueless:  The angled brackets on top...next to the fender?

Thanks everyone. I can't believe the Chinese don't even make this yet.

Sent you an email.

Actually I'm not surprised they aren't reproduced. It's a complex, expensive part to make and the demand isn't nearly as great as for the '70/'71 stuff. Heck even the '71 grille isn't reproduced. Funny enough, they made fewer Challengers from '72 to '74 than they did in 1970 alone. Total production for 1970 was 76,935. Adding '72-74 you get 62,230. Technically, a 1974 Challenger of any kind is more rare than a 1970 R/T, they only made 11,354 '74's. They made 13,796's R/T's, and that doesn't include the R/T S/E's or convertibles.

Anyway, if you figure on at least a 50% attrition rate that means you're probably talking about less then 30,000 72-74 Challengers left. That may be optimistic too. And then throw in the folks like me that convert the '72-'74 models with 70/71 bodywork and grilles, and the demand for reproducing a '72-'74 header panel doesn't look so good compared to the tooling costs.

That guy on Kijiji in Alberta is on crack. $820 for a bare header and if you give him more you'll get the rest of it's parts?! WTF? It's in good shape- or so it looks in photos, but keep looking. If you can find pieces, you can assemble one yourself. It's only fibreglass as was every Vette for decades and it's not too difficult.

I have a very nice unbroken original here in South East Pa. It has all four of the headlamp buckets. $600 pick-up only or I can deliver to Chryslers @ Carlisle. Pm if interested.
