AMD or Dynacorn
« on: April 23, 2017 - 12:13:22 PM »
I need help making my decision. I have a choice of AMD or Dynacorn fenders for my 1970 Challenger. Does anyone have good or bad experiences on either brand? Any opinions? fitment issues, pluses or minuses?  There is a $150 difference in price, minor plus for  Dynacorn.

I cannot speak for fenders but on other pieces, I've had good luck with all brands. I'm redoing a car now and have bought and installed rails, floors, hinge pillars, etc. all items I bought fit nice. AMD seems a little more precise to the original stuff which I like but it is a lot more money. I will probably buy AMD for fenders because those are seen everyday.

I ordered a set of AMD fenders from Dave today.   Other than missing the head light bezel attachment points my fenders are pretty much perfect, the were going to go on my rotisserie restored '70 challenger convert. I guess I can try to sell them??

If you were on the west coast, I'd offer to buy them. I have two cars but only one set of usable fenders. My plan was to use AMD on exterior metal hoping to minimize any chance of extra fitting work.

I got 2 AMD left fenders for my 70 challenger and they were terrible. Original fender fit perfect but just was rusted. Don't understand why they were bad when every other parts I got from them for my Cuda and challenger were great.

A convertible in that color is fantastic. I have an RT in Go Mango awaiting its turn for restoration.

I got my fenders today from AMD and refused them....all because they do not have a way of attaching the headlight bezel just like the fenders on my car now.  There is no bracket on the inside of the top of the fender to screw in the two top bezel screws. Has anyone know of a fender for a 70 that has the correct mountings for the bezel?

Can you post a picture of the area where the missing bracket should be? I am not sure I follow what is missing, thanks.

First picture is the bezels two upper mount screw holes that screw into the underside of the fender,

Second picture under the fender where the top of the bezel should screw to.

Third picture with a home made "bezel bracket" of what I think should look like

Fourth picture is the front view of the fender with my "home made " brackets

fifth picture original fender with bezel mounting tabs

My goodmark fender had the mounts for that.  Body line and lining up with the door however are another story and needed a lot of work to get it to line up cut and splice.  Can you not just weld a tab in place at the locations?

Glenn, was the tabs there and just not bent back, as this is an actual AMD fender.
