Mopardave, I believe you might have nailed it. My originals are bent back and kinda formed in. The pic you posted of the AMD makes me think you have to fit and massage the tabs a bit until the bezels set where you need them.

Thank you beekeeper that clarifies it for me.  I will be heading back to the shipping company to take a second look at the fenders and hopefully my first assessment was wrong.

Good luck! Please post if the AMD ones are gonna work out. At some point when I do my other car, I may be forced to buy a set of new fenders so curious to see how they work out.

My original tabs are kinda cupped in. I'm wondering if it's sufficient to bend the tabs back or if they actually need to be cupped. My guess is the inward cup adds strength to keep it from bending out when the screw pulls on it.
