Is this a good deal 70 barracuda
« on: April 30, 2017 - 02:21:04 AM »
Hi i found this car but not sure if its a good deal or not. 1970 cuda!! This cuda has been completely redone. I have a rebuilt 440 engine to go with it. I also have a transmission as well. I have the seat too but need to be redone. It a rolling shell with no rust. All the floors are solid. I have the tail lights.  He is asking 9000.

you say you have a 440 and trans and seat, do you mean it comes with car? does he/she have everything else that's been removed? if so I say great deal, easy inspection when they are dismantled

For me...if its just the shell and nothing else, then $9,000 is too much.

If that includes the 440 and transmission, then good deal.

PS...  If there is no interior at all you will spend at LEAST $5,000 for the seats, door panels, rear panels, dash board, and gauge clusters..   not to mention the wiring harnesses will be probably around another $2,000...  Glass another 1500...  another $4,000 on nice wheels and tires, etc etc...

Find a real nice ready to go car for in the $30's and save your money and headaches !!

I'm not spending my money nor do I know the OP's intent... Perhaps building one is his dream so I'll throw this out there.

I agree a lot of money to be spent on this one BUT (to play devils advocate) how many complete rust buckets have you seen people bring back either with their own sweat or paying big bucks to have done?

There's a company, I believe in NC, that charges 15K to put your Mopar roller back in shape ready for the body shop. So a truly rust free straight body could be worth quite a bit.

I would say it is a Barracuda because of the emblem holes in the tail panel.

Ok, now understanding that it comes WITH a rebuilt 440 and a transmission and seats, then $9,000 is a very reasonable price.   Heck a properly rebuilt 440 alone is worth $4-6 K and a rust free body is worth at least another $5...   So you actually found a bargain...

It will be a great project...

barracuda.

Is there a fender tag?  Did you go and see this car?

Looks like it was an original fj5 or fj6 sublime car.

unless the doors were replaced.

I would say it is a Barracuda because of the emblem holes in the tail panel.

Gran Coupe

See the hole above the key area. Was for the emblem.
