72 Cuda Window Felt Issue
« on: May 09, 2017 - 10:26:14 PM »
Hi Guys

I have a '72 Cuda purchased as a project car.  It came with a PUI interiors part number F451 window felt kit (says 71-74 coupe on the box). The kit has the correct outer 1/4 window pieces with the push in style clips attached to the felt, but the remaining six pieces seem to be incorrect.  They have 1/8 inch holes designed for rivets and/or screws.  The original felt pieces for the inside panels are held in place by pushing on / clipping around the plastic.  The replacements clearly aren't correct as they're taller, and there's no way to properly attach them.  The outer pieces for the front windows look like they could work If I used 3/16" rivets, but the holes in the door appear to be designed for the same imbedded clips that the outer 1/4 window pieces use.

The PUI website isn't the greatest, and I have not heard back from them via email yet.  Can anyone tell me if the other brands of window felt on the market include the metal clips for the outer front window pieces, and are designed to push on / clip around the plastic panels on the inside?  If so, I'll likely order a new kit that fits properly.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Top Cat Brand are much more correct.... Not 100% but probably 98-99%... The PUI stuff might rate a 30% grade..

For anyone else with a similar problem, it appears that I have '70 doors on my car (I noticed a bit of purple overspray on the inside, and the rest of the car is blue).  According to Roseville Moparts the '70 cars use the clip on / clip in style felt.  The 71-74 cars use screws.
