I'll be watching to see how Alonso does.  I generally don't watch Indycar on ovals, but i watch the road courses.  Ovals are a different skill set,  so it will be interesting to see how Fernando gets on.

I usually try to watch the start of the race and the end. I don't watch the whole thing....

Went there yesterday (Thurs) and watched practice. I always get the Bronze Badges which allows access to the garages.  Since Tony Kanaan has won, I would now like to see Hinch win.

Alonso made the remark about how many people there was today. He's gonna sheet a brick when he sees how many is there race day.  Majority of drivers that have never raced at the 500 have remarked about how much narrower the front stretch appears to be during race day (like a tunnel) due to the crowds and it takes awhile to adjust going into turn 1.

yeah i agree.  i think hes in for a shock.  i hope the race goes well for him though.  i wonder if hes positioning himself to do a semi retirement in the indy series since hes pretty unhappy in f1 right now.

I read somewhere that alonso was intereseted in trying to accomplish the racing triple crown. F1 championship,  Indy 500, and Le Mans 24hr.

AJ Foyt has won the Indianapolis 500, the Daytona 500, the 24 Hours of Daytona, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Mario Andretti won Indianapolis 500, Daytona 500 and the Formula One World Championship.

yeah if there is a definition of the tripe crown, it would be Mario's accomplishments, in my opinion
