5th digit is engine code, and there is no zero or letter O...

What engine is in the car?

It may be a 'C' or a 'D' or a 'G' that didn't print up right, but fender tag will verify to VIN in top of dash... should be able to read one of them...

That is what I'm saying it is a 0 in 5th digit in vin # I do know that its supposed to be Letter not a number. Don't have fender tag or vin tag not on car. Its also possible that a mistake was made when Title of vehicle document was done only thing I can figure??

 :clueless:

Was it even possible to order a car without an engine?

Could it be an insurance claim replacement where back half got totalled, and owner had a hemi, so ordered car without an engine to drop the hemi into???

If it's on title it's obviously a mistake.
Probably a C or G maybe even a L since it's near the O on keyboard.
Post a pick with last 4 geyed out

Only thing for car we have is the title, all numbers on cowl, rad support, trunk channel all match the last number on vin. Would there be any other avenues to finding the 5th digit. Funny you should mention that 73cuda ,There were talks of a hemi being around with the pervious owner not sure about the whole story will try to get more information.

Could be a factory stamping error too,  my car has the 7th digit as a 3 instead of a B on the dash vin.  Door sticker has a B

Have you looked for build sheets in the car's interior yet? Sometimes they are still buried inside the car somewhere, and could verify the VIN with title..

So the car doesn't have a VIN plate on the dash and no fender tag either...? How about door tag?

Just to clarify if I'm reading this right ...

Fifth digit of the VIN on the title is a zero, but you can't verify that anywhere on the actual car.

The car has no fender tag or even a dash VIN tag? Is the dash with the VIN tag out of the car or something? You have to have that dash VIN tag somewhere in order to legally drive it on the street.

What about the driver's door sticker? I guess if you haven't mentioned it, it's probably painted over or missing too.

Fifth VIN digit has to be a typo as it doesn't correlate to anything, but the only way to know what it is actually suppose to be is to find the dash VIN tag.

Cheers!

Yes only thing is the Title  and last numbers in the title match to the body stamped numbers on rad support etc . no vin # no tag, no drivers door stickers, dash and dash frame & build sheet long gone. Unless I find vin or tag or build sheet there is no other way of finding out what engine came in car from factory. Thanks for all imput folks

Try DMV search of title, most likely error occurred along the way.
Older title should have correct info, didn't leave factory that way.
