WISEGUYS R/T
« on: May 24, 2017 - 06:34:14 PM »
Wiseguy TV show is on H&I, Hero's and Icons 36.4 antenna # for Bay Area. He's been driving a 72 Grey R/T all week since he's back in Brooklyn busting white supremacists. Timely for today's politics.

72? Back in the 80's when the program was in production I recall a 70 EB7 440+6 car... There was an episode with the Sixpack sitting on his dining room table with the carbs scattered all over.... In another episode he was driving, hit a bump & you could clearly here the right lower ball joint clunk like they will went they need to be replaced..... .....

how prominently is the car featured?  is it used often, or just appear occasionally?

The story was Vinny was a fed working under cover investigating the mob... He travelled to different areas regularly... When he was home in the Bronx it was his personal car... so it was random, you'd see it for a few episodes then it was gone for long periods.... It was a pretty good program....

FWIW Ken Wahl the actor who played Vinny is a car guy & owns probably a dozen old muscle cars, he probably has the Challenger, supposedly his daily driver is a 69 Chevelle....

Not a Chally guy, so I didn't study the bumper to see if it had slots, thought it was a simple R/T 383. I'm from Newark and Dad was a Dry cleaner and custom tailor on 533 Bloomfield Ave. We had Toma the cop, that the show was based on, along with the Boys of Jersey. The book's picture section listed our Saturday's one hour customers. "Just don't allow them to use the phone", was Dads order. "And if they want to stick a garment in the machine, let them".                                                                             Vinnie's accent is more Nork than Brooklyn.  I remember at the time, the 6 pac on the table, and thought a new junk yard piece. Something to work frustration out with, as the plots went.
