I found a 1970 440 'Cuda Auto in a barn here in Arkansas.  The odometer shows 11,585 miles and the old crazy guy says it's the original miles  :dunno:

The drivetrain, fenders, grill and hood are all missing.  Body shows no rust- carpet was pulled decades ago and the floors look very nice.  All the glass, seats, dash, column and console are there.

The fender tag is there and matches core support numbers.  Vin on dash matches.  Windshield has inspection sticker from 1981.

Guy is asking 30K for it

30K? Low miles or not that's absurd for what you're getting. Some of these clowns watch too many high profile car auctions on tv and think they are sitting on a gold mine!
Cheers!

Why buy a 20-30k project when for just a bit more you could have bought this car from a member here. Yes, it is a 383, but not a money loser by any means. That car will take about 40k to get it to be a nice car again. Not that it shouldn't be saved.

Wow.  Nice car.  Time to re-examine my options...  Thanks.

Lots more 383 cars were made so plenty more to choose from at much better pricing. I've owned lots of 383 cars and they have plenty of get up and go. You could even toss in a 440 if you really wanted the extra cubic inches and keep the original motor in the corner of the garage.

Take your time, with summer rolling around, I am quite sure many more will be on the market. There have  been several nice ones here, like a 70 RT vert, that just sold too. Watch  :ebay:, mainly to see where the current market is at on the model you are thinking about. If you find one of interest, post it on the forum and let the guys who are totally neutral build the car up or tear it down.   :2thumbs:

I would suggest still pursuing the car.
Just be honest with him and tell him what it's worth.  Maybe you will get lucky.
haggle him once a year for the next ten years and it might end up behind your barn.

Sure would like to see more pics of the car.
