fiberglass hood body work
« on: June 06, 2017 - 06:37:13 PM »
How should a fiberglass hood scoop be built up. At the bottom of my hood scoop on one side it is flat and must have had an air pocket when made. The other side it is more rounded. I'm thinking I need to use some type of fiberglass resin and mix it was fiberglass strands?

Remove the gel coat and use short strand fibreglass filler. It used to have the trade name "Tigerhair" but it's quite common now. It's waterproof and you can sculpt with it, should you wish to. Try to get it as close to the finished shape as possible since it's a biotch to sand once it's cured. Good luck
