440 Question?
« on: June 07, 2017 - 02:46:27 PM »
Friend has a 79 440 and 727 out of a Winnibago, with 35,000 on it.
Wants to know what he should sell it for?
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

I paid 350 for a bare block. Then again I could see that it could be cleaned up with a bore and hone. If I needed a 440 core and I could see that it's running I'd pay 5-600 for it. If it's a block sitting on an engine stand that I can't hear run, I'd be less inclined to pay. $400 seems like its worth the risk. just my  :2cents:
