Just got her towed to my house this past weekend. She is a 1970 Dodge Challenger 440. It has been in my family for 17 years but has sat since we owned it. Originally I bought it to fix up and be my first car. After sinking the rest of my money into rebuilding the engine, we found the trans was bad. At this point I realized it needed too much work and my Dad bought it from me. My Dad ended up never having the time to work on it so it has sat ever since. Fast forward 17 years later and the car is now mine again and I get to bring her back to life!

Welcome... start a restoration thread once you start your process.  We all love restoration threads.

Welcome nice it's been in your family
Are you planning on a full restore or get it going and upgrade as you go?

I really want to get it back on the road so I will repair as I go. My first goal is to get it started up and make sure engine is ok after sitting for so long. After that I will be converting to disc brakes in the front, rebuild the rear drums and see whats going on with the transmission.

Good plan,
I took a car apart years ago even though I had the money to do a full restore myself, life got in the way. Wish I had done upgrades as I went. Get the brakes and suspension working right for safety and enjoy it as you go.
Best to ya
