Krylon Silver textured shimmer
« on: June 21, 2017 - 11:26:35 AM »
I've read that this is a perfect match for my cuda's grill but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Not even on line. Was it discontinued or am I just looking in all the wrong places?

Check with Dave at Roseville, he supplied spray bombs when I did my agent grill. I'm happy with the results.

Why not just use the tried and true product from Totally Auto  :dunno:  Cost?

We have some Ace Hardware's here and they have a good supply of the Krylon paints.   :2cents:

I decided to just get the one from Totally Auto. It pains me to drop nearly 40 bucks after shipping for a can of spray paint but it seems like the best option.

You know what that means, after you get the totally Auto paint, you'll find it local and it'll be cheap! :faint:

I've got a can and will eventually do my '70 Cuda grille. Can you tell me how you prepped yours. Was is the basic sand, prime and paint?

I don't think the Totally Auto paint is an exact match to the factory original argent.  I think it was Scott Smith that started a post on Moparts years ago that showed the differences.  He was trying to find a more correct paint.  He found four or five different Krylon shades and did a sprayout off all of them.  I think he compared the Krylon to some NOS argent maybe?  Anyway, in Scott's opinion, the Krylon was a closer match then the Totally Auto paint.

Then there is the cost.  A lot of people complained of the high cost, then their can clogged and wouldn't spray.
