Brand New--Looking For a Driver Barracuda '70-'74

Hey guys, brand new to the forums and very interested in finding a '70-'74 Barracuda. Numbers matching doesn't matter. Probably looking at either a 318 or 340 for my price range. Preferably little to no rust in the 20-25k range. Is it possible?

20-25k should get you a reasonably nice and rust free car in the 72-74 years. 70-71 gets tougher as they are more sought after. Not impossible in that price range but it might not be quite as nice or may have some rust compared to the other years.

Thanks guys, definitely starting to look for something in the '72-'74 range now. I've seen several 318 equipped models in the low 20's for those years. Seem about right?

I think so. Couple years ago, there was a 73 Cuda for sale at one of the big Mopar shows. It wasn't flawless but it was super nice in every way. I recall he was asking around 28k.

So I've been noticing that Challengers are generally quite a bit more affordable than the Barracudas. Is there any real reason for that? Or is it just what's for sale right now...

There were more Challengers made back then and surpassed the 'cuda numbers in every of their five year production. So today the price is higher for the fewer 'cudas that exist.

I see. I was unaware their production numbers were that different.

113,0000 compared to 165,000. but there a couple hundred more 74 barracuda made than 74 challengers but both where in the 12krange
