QA1 LOWER CONTROL ARMS NO STEERING STOPS

I put on tubular QA1 lower control arms, but they do not have any steering stops. I can turn until idler arm hits kick out in oil pan and tires rub. What have you guys done to make a stop?  Thanks in advance for info.

Subscribing. I have QA1 lower control arms being delivered today. Other than the bump stops how was the job? I just did upper control arms a few weeks ago, but the engine was out and everything was accessible. Also, QA1 is very responsive on the phone. They may be happy to discuss this with you if you call them.

Install was straight forward just like standard lower control arms. The quality of arms seems very good. I made a tab that is bolted thru lower shock bolt on front of control arm so when turning the front big bolt that holds lower ball joint to spindle hits the tab to use as a stop. We will be SERIOUSLY testing the control arms this weekend. My son and I will be competing in the Street Machine Challenge at the Street Machine Nationals in St.Paul  Minnesota this weekend that is sponsored by QA1.

Post a picture of the area where the stops would be on a stock setup.  Maybe you can add a stop of some sort to them?  Could you make a stop that mounts to the shock bolt?

Steering stop? don't need no stinkin' steering stop :icon16: Seriously though, I use my tires since they acted as stops with the stock LCAs anyhow. I haven't had a high speed turn with enough arc to cause a problem, but then again I don't auto cross.

Good to hear. I've never done LCA arms, and QA1 strut arms. I also have their single adjustable shocks. Just loaded them in the truck and plan on starting after work. Let us know how they handle! Are you tubular K member too?

#1 your tires shouldn't act as stops that doesn't make sense :icon16: #2 use borgeson steering box, T/A long steering arms, and road race kickout oil pan they will hit.#3 Ma Mopar made stops for a reason; #4 and yes there are tight turns on autox and also during street use!

So, can you make a bracket that attaches to the lower shock bolt? You wouldn't have to weld anything that way.

Its a combo of the little numb on the lower ball joint and the area it contacts  that is stamped into the  lower control arm.
