They have "test" cars out there available to the automotive press now....SRT-8 300C will be available in the fall to the public, with the Charger version not far behind.

The SRT-8 300 is already out, as is the SRT-8 Magnum. I have read that one guy ran a 12.99 in a factory stock SRT-8 300. The 6.1 Hemis are built extremely well and there are rumors that a guy has run a 200 shot of nitrous without problems. The reason you dont see any of them are because they are 40k+ and dealers are marking them up to over 50k. The SRT-8 Charger should be out this fall and I believe they are going to start building them in September. The charger version should be good for around 12.8 out of the factory. Just imagine what it would run with a cam and exhaust......Ohh BTW, there is soppose to be a Grand Cherokee SRT-8 which will be the fastest SUV on the planet and a SRT-8 Ram for those that cant afford the 45k SRT-10 Ram. As of right now Chrysler has 6 vehicles that run in the 13s or lower, thats more than Ford and GM combined!!!

it would be nice to see more cubic inches, their 5.7l in a work truck really lacks the power, when I get my truck loaded up I weigh 12000 lbs, and the small hemi just isnt enuff to pull me around, and its realy hard on fuel.

I don't know if I agree with that.  I regularly pull about 7000lbs with my '05 ram 1500 which weighs about 5600 alone.  that gives me a combined weight of about 12,600 and the hemi has no problems whatso ever.  Even the breaks are more than capable of stopping all that weight.

They dont like Burpin over there and even attacked Burpin harshly. Burpin just wanted to make friends and get some info in the process. Just goes to show ya that mopar guys all over world (cept maybe now) will accept ya for what kind of car you drive and not your sexual preference. Wait that didnt sound right.

Where is the 6.1?  In the Magnum SRT-8 at my local Dodge dealer, and hopefully soon in my driveway!  As soon as I can bring myself to take the huge hit on swapping the Magnum R/T (with only 5100 miles on the clock) for the SRT-8, it's a done deal!  That money's probably better spent on a crate hemi for the Cuda, but I can't lease the crate hemi like I can the SRT-8....

I,m not trying to start a argument on trucks, but what was your fuel mileage like loaded up like that?  I have tried all the new trucks ford, chevy and dodge and let me tell you that none of the gas models on any of them were any good, on fuel or for pulling (especialy up hills). The hemi, loaded with my welding equipment and pulling my trailer was getting  between 8 and 9 mpg, now the dodge diesle is a different story(they get 10 - 13 mpg loaded), which is all any of them get.
