I just mounted and balanced my new goodyear polylass E60 on 4 new Wheel Vintiques 56 Series Chrysler Rallye Silver Wheels and to balance them true they needed a lot of weight (4.5 oz) and while watching the tread there appears to be a lot of lateral (side to side) run out/wobble, is this normal for polyglass tires...or do I have a tire or a wheel problem?  The wheel (with tire) on the balancer while rotating did not appear to have any run out.

because of what I was seeing I checked the last wheel before mounting the tire, this wheel seem to have very little lateral run out, if any, but it seemed very pronounced after the tire was mounted, not so much at the side wall bead seam but when watching the bottom of tire from the back, you could watch the tread grooves jump around side to side...so I am hoping this is just how polyglas's are...

4.5 for belted tires is not out of line.  I would not worry about runout.  Put them on and run the tires... if you have a problem, contact who you purchased them from.

I do plan to run them ASAP, but I just was really surprised when balancing as the whole machine shook side to side like never before. Could watch the threads wavier left and right, but I have never dealt with polyglas tires and wondering if they do this normally, as the wheels seemed okay. on the same note might not be able to run them til late this year and didn't want to wait to long where the tire or wheel manufacture would say " its been too long"

You will be fine time wise.  Hope everything does what it is supposed to do when mounted and running.

Heat, load, and storage position really impact polyglas tires. This is why they thump for the first mile or so after sitting overnight. I would imagine the first balance cycle could be impacted similarly.

"Heat, load, and storage position really impact polyglas tires"

that's kinda what I was hoping,
since the wheels themselves looked and balanced nicely with minimal runout before mounting the tires...
I will leave them and simply try them ASAP.

You say u mounted and balanced the tires.
When you mounted the tires did you fill load the air to at 45 lbs to seat the tires.
The bias tires are terrible on the road. They wander because of the grooves made by trucks in the asphalt.
The side walls do not flex like the radial.  I have them on our AAR. SUCK!

I 've always gotten the feeling saying something bad about Polyglas tires was akin to speaking badly about a Ferrari....

I did what ever they said, I know it had a strict call out on each tire stating not to exceed a certain psi when seating the bead.
So I followed it, and the beads all seated properly, with no issues...
I actually prefer bias tires, I have them on all my other classics, as all the suspension back then were designed with these tires originally, I prefer to run them on any older stock suspension, just never have used polyglas in particular before.

Run the tires at the door sticker/ trunk sticker pressure.  Should be about 26-28 pounds.  Good luck!!

I did not mean the tire pressure should be 45 lbs just to seat the tire.
