Where/what is the best place to attach the cherry picker?  Can't use a plate, my intake manifold is only held on with 2 bolts.  Can i use the intake manifold bolt holes to attach to?

You can attach the picker to the bolt holes for the intake, but remember to put the bolts all the way on. I usually use the bolt holes that are not used, but I have used the intake bolt holes. If you dont have one, you might want to buy an engine leveler with chains because it will make the job much easier.....

Just don't let anybody try and convince you ever that you need a "sky hitch" or an O ring installer.

Intake, Accessory on the heads, or head bolts (heads off). Id NEVER lift a motor by the intake where the carb mounts  :spank:

It's just the tought of those little bolts holding the entire weight of the engine.  I guess I would consider using the carb bolt holes IF I had a plate to fit the intake with the 4 correct bolts but I've always used either the corner intake bolts or bolts on the end of the head.

:iagree: Just dont like the fact of those lil bolts holding into aluminum and holding up an entire motor  :ack:

It's just psychological l I guess.  If the engine weighs 500 lbs, then each bolt only holds 125 lbs.  Not that much.

My 426 crate hemi weighs 800+ lbs and it was loaded into the crate by the plate bolted to the aluminum intake. It will hold.

Well there's proof enough...Just would be my luck that it wouldnt hold, especially with a $10,000+motor going right over the middle of a car thats worth a $10,000 motor  :dogpile:
