Hellcat in 1:18 to be made
« on: August 22, 2017 - 08:31:51 AM »
We just heard that a 1:18 scale Hellcat is to be made! Now before anyone gets too excited, they aren't cheap. Item #US006 is to be a 2016 Hellcat in B5 Blue with Black hood. This is a closed (non-opening) car made in Resin, and will have a high quality finish. Price is $149.95 with free shipping (just $3 handling) if reserved before they arrive. They are currently expected in January 2018 subject to change. No one is billed until the cars are actually shipping. For those interested see www.Supercar1.com and search HELLCAT. Create an account, and reserve this cool Mopar. No sample car photo's yet (only this real car photo) but they will be added to our site when available.

More: This is the only 1:18 scale Hellcat that we know of, and the only color announced. Knowing the manufacturer (GT Spirit) another color likely will be made, but unknown when, or what it may be. This is the only choice at this time.

If I may be honest, that's a terrible bargain for the price...  For about $80 or so, if I recall, I got a die-cast 1:18 Die-cast Viper with opening doors, hood and hatch, had phenomenal engine-bay detail, fully-painted dash and even a carpet material on the floor and trunk.  I think they normally retailed for $120.

While I do agree the price is not the cheapest, at this time anyway - it is the only choice for a Hellcat. No other manufacturer is making one. While a Viper has been made by Maisto, Bburago, Ertl/RC2, GT Spirit, Top Marques, and AutoART, the Vipers are priced anywhere from $15 to $300 depending on the manufacturer. Also as anything manufactured, the more you make, the less expensive they become per piece. While some of the 1:18 Vipers had production runs into the 10's of thousands, this Hellcat there are only an estimated 750 to be made. Yes it's possible the may do a second color, but we have no news of if that will happen or not. So maybe 1,500 overall made, not 15,000 to 25,000+ made.
So calling the Hellcat a terrible bargain for the price, well, to each there own they say. If one wants a Hellcat, this one is the only choice right now.
