I remember reading someplace that some company is or does make performance shoes for classic muscle cars but unfortunately I cannot remember who that is. That said, the Wagner shoes are nice, I just installed some in my wife's Caliber and was very impressed with their quality. Unless you are planning on making 200 MPH runs, I think any good quality shoes will perform well so long as you have good drums and the rest of the hardware and system are in good condition and adjusted properly.
If you are really concerned about it, you could always convert to a bolt on disc system but IMO the drums will serve you well.
