2013 Challenger R/T will not start
« on: August 27, 2017 - 10:52:43 PM »
Yesterday afternoon, I got into my Challenger to take it out for a cruise but it would not start with either key fob. I could hear the fuel pump prime and the battery had plenty of power to turn the engine over. The engine would just spin over with the starter. The car had been sitting for about a month and a half before I got in it. The last time I drove it it ran perfectly and I've never had any mechanical problems with the car before. The car only has 22,000 miles on it and is completely stock other than a catback and a shifter. The car is still under warranty but I wanted to get an idea from you all as to what the problem could be before I take it to the dealer. Also, since the car is under warranty, will Dodge pay to have it towed for service? I had an OBD2 scanner and I plugged it in to see if there were any faults in the computer but none were found.  :1zhelp:

The primary fuel pump on the drivers side of the car was the root cause of the problem.  Unfortunately Dodge does not consider that a power train part therefore it was not replaced under warranty.

There are times when you can't go wrong with a factory extended warranty. Glad you got figured out.

Yeah, that's why I bought the extended warranty on mine and my wife's Challengers.  You can never be too careful.

I had this problem also. I rented a car near the airport in DCA a yellow-colored 2010 Challenger coupe for a good price. After a few miles, I stopped at the cafe and after that, the engine hasn`t started. Thank god it was a usual problem, so the warranty on DCA solved this.
