This is a far cry from a 71 Hemi convertible; they only made 108 convertibles total of which 11 were Hemi cars. They made over 600 383 4bbl 4 speed Cudas. Just do some homework, i.e. "highest price paid for a 70 Cuda 383 4 spd". But even then, that is for a well kept survivor or a very high end restoration as investors go hemi first, 6 barrel second, 440 4 bbl next, etc.

Your car is worth as stated 5-8K because it is easily going to absorb 30-50K in a restoration or even a relatively moderate build.

Hey look, its your car, ask what you want and take as much as you can get, but since you posted it here and asked... No one is attempting to low ball you, maybe there is someone out there willing to pay more and I hope you find him/her but it is going to be tuff. One look at Ebay will give you an idea, there is a 70 440 6 bbl restomod car selling for ~$54K buy it now... running, driving, painted, etc..

that's a cool car when its done. BUT ,and I speak from experience . This car can not and even if you do all the metal , body ,interior and assembly yourself. Can not be built less then 45 to 50k. Not including the price of the car. Forget 30k.  :money:Trust me that's the number. Material and parts will add up quick. and at the end f the day its a 50k car done. So 5 to 8k is a fare price. That is being completely honest!

I totally agree with this. Anyone who thinks that car is worth fives times the market value is completely delusional and not interested in reality. If you read the earlier posts, you see that he was reluctant to openly share information. I was interested in the car but got a bad feeling that he'd be hard to work with.

I've come across guys like this before and when they Tell me they want some insane price for their car, I don't even try to argue or talk them down. There's no point in trying. Just wish them luck and move on. If someone really wanted that particular car, I could see them paying a couple grand more than it's worth since you forget about those little things years later. But how can any buyer even try to meet him in the middle? You'd still be in the laughable price zone.

He needs to keep that car out in the weather until it deteriorates further and becomes completely non-restorable and valueless. Then in his old age, he can tell people how he once owned an ultra rare bazillion dollar Mopar in his younger days.

What is it with some folks who have an old car in horrible condition yet believe they are holding onto a jackpot lottery ticket that will help them retire early? I blame these barrett Jackson for this phenomenon.

I agree and it is unfortunate but there are far too many people like that out there hanging on to what they think is the golden egg..

That sounds like he was hoping everyone would get worked into a frenzy and start throwing out rediculous offers and if one was too his liking, that would be the lucky winner who earned the privilege of his attention.

Obviously the problem is that everyone here is trying to steal it from him; we have all conspired to low ball him and get some one the deal of the century; a super valuable car for penny's... The mind is a terrible thing.... especially when you want BJ every chance you can..

That's why I didn't make an offer. I was thinking more in the 6K-8K area. That and you never answered my questions about frame rails floor and trunk. Definitely no where near worth $30,000. Good luck with your sale. You're going to need it at that price.

Frank, to give you a reasonable point of comparison... I bought a 70 Challenger R/T a couple years ago. While the 70 Cuda might get a little more money, a 70 Challenger RT is a much closer comparison in value than a 71 hemi Cuda.

My 70 Challenger RT is all numbers matching, a 383, and a 4 speed car in Go Mango color. Like yours, it too needs a full restoration. My car has almost no rust but minor front end damage which is much easier to repair than rust. My cars value is probably not far from yours.

I paid $7500 for mine. If yours has a lot of rust, missing it's original drive train, or other issues, the value of yours is closer to 6-7k. If it is in better shape, has original drive train, and no issues, it could be worth around 12k in my opinion.
