I'm sending off my carb to get rebuilt at Harms and he does a lot of yellow chromate and other plating so I'm looking around to see if I can send off a few items and save myself a trip later on. So I'm looking at the booster that came with the car. I had bought a cordone reman a while back as a cheap filler because I wasn't sure if this old one was original and worth spending the money to restore. Now I'm looking at it again more closely and still not sure
The car: 71 cuda 340 originally with power drum brakes on all 4, built Jan 71.
The booster (all this came off the aluminum tag, I decoded all but the last line using the Galen Tag Svc. Parts and Casting Numbers Book, vol II pg 50 ) :
PN: 3461134
Vendor No.: 73608
Date: 188 0 B = 188th day '70 Shift B
Midland Ross PN: C-4601-A
Jim's auto lists a NOS 3461287 he's selling as being for e bodies with power drums.
Another web site selling misc parts references the C-4601 as an e body booster no mention of year or disc/drum.
My MMC reference book states that the proper booster for my car would be a C4600MC if it had DISC brakes originally.
Questions:
Is this original to the car? I don't have the big 71 chry parts book to reference the PN's
If original, is it able to be used since I put front discs on the car with a new distribution valve?
Curious to see if anyone can find a reference to this booster, as I sure can't.
Thanks
Mike
