Exhaust Tips
« on: October 08, 2017 - 11:08:16 AM »
Hey guys,

Approximately how far out should the chrome exhaust tips extend from the rear valance on the R/T model?

Thanks

Here's my 70 R/T with what appears to be its original exhaust system intact.

Any chance I can get a close measurement as to how far out the exhaust tips are from the rear valance (getting ready to cut mine back tomorrow)?

It could be the angle the photo was taken but it looks like the tip is to close to the body....   (To high)   It should have an equal gap on three sides....

I'm very happy with the end result thanks to all of your help and grateful for having picked up a welding unit.  This was a perfect project for being a beginner in the welding arena and I now understand the details of correctly "clocking" the two butted pipes and why an exhaust shop would not want to fool around with the artistic madness to get it right!
