Drum brake issues
« on: November 03, 2017 - 02:18:22 PM »
I have a 73 340 cuda with rear drum brakes. The drum won't come off though it mover seems as the upper shoe is against the brake drum. Tried the adjuster wheel but it won't spin. Car has been sitting for a year and hasn't moved. Any help in getting it off would be appreciated. Also any ideas on what type of rear disc set up would be good instead of drums. Already changed master with drilled slotted rotors the larger ones bought new sliding caliber set up . Thanks

Is the E-brake cable stuck?? If it doesn't release, it can really hamper self-adjuster loosening and drum removal.

You may have to use a large 3-jaw puller against axle... it will probably rip the shoes, but if you're going to be replacing anyway....
