 Wow, impressive progress. This portion can sometimes drag but you seem to have a good pace.

Got the time and motivation at present. 4 litres of epoxy used, just got the inside trunk to go. Pick up a new can tomorrow and Wednesday  looking positive weather wise.Need to get some parts clean so I can paint them.

More filling, been a lot of 2 steps forward and 1 back. Trunk lid,  valances and 1 door looking straight.

Cheers redo 1973.

Had some down time so filling and epoxying going great. Ready for a guide coat are the rear quarters, rocker panels, valances , trunk lid and 1 1/2 doors. One door has a deep dent right behind the side intrusion bars, can't get any tool in behind to pop it out. may have  to use filler, but will be up to 1/3 inch thick. Been flatting the engine bay also, time consuming, but results are worth it.

Do you have access to a stud puller?  Maybe braze/weld one of those wire studs and pull it out some?

Friend does have one now you mention it, I will give him a call. I realise i will have to put some fill on the door, I just want to keep it to a minimum.

I welded washers to the driver side rocker to pull a dent out but want to be less brutal with a door skin.

I very much appreciate the minimal filler approach.  I can say with full honesty at car shows that I have maybe a pint but no more than two of filler on my car and it is mostly on the seams or but welds to smooth things. It's very much worth taking your time and doing it right.

As the saying goes, much harder to do things the right way...  Its very easy to slather on filler and cut it to shape. That said, dont be afraid to use it for what it is made for, small thin areas to smooth out panels. Watch any custom car show and you will see them putting a skim coat on and then block most of it off. Definitely worth doing and makes a huge difference.

Can you believe it’s been a year since you were here and picked it up. Great progress! Can’t wait to see it finished Tony.

Thanks for the input guys, would be so easy to chuck a can or 2 of fill on the car, but as you say, take your time and do the right thing. If I can get to a dent I have tried to smooth it out, but sometimes filler is the only answer.

Hello Dave, a year goes so fast, Bryce and I had such a great time meeting you and exploring the USA on our trip. I am really motivated at the moment and can see the finish line or at least colour.

I got some primer on some parts and gave the engine bay a good coat in readiness for smoothing and colour.
