My wife and I own a Liberty has 25000 miles and has had absolutly NO problems. It has plenty of power even though I would not recomend it as a tow vehicle based upon it's size. And for the record the liberty's come with either a 4 banger or the 3.7 litre V-6 and for 2005 a diesel has been added.

My dad bought a new Liberty in mid 03.  A month ago, he traded it in.





....on a new Diesel Liberty.

I have a 2003 Liberty with almost 80K miles on the v6 & other than state inspections yearly the only things its needed were front brakes & tires. Plenty of power but based on its size I wouldn't tow much more than a small boat or trailer with it.

I had two 4.0L Cherokees previuosly and they were great engines,lots of power and torque.My `87 had 150k and going strong when it got stolen and burnt to the ground.Our Liberty has the v6 with 16.5k and nothing but oil changes.

Four 4.0 engines owned by my family, mileage from 44,000 to 240,000.  ZERO engine problems.  The modern day leaning tower of power, I can't believe they are phasing it out.  Awesome motor.  Your "gurus" are probably talking about the 2.7 4 cyl.  I'll agree there are problems with that one.

My "gurus" are talking about the 4.0L Glad to hear you people had no dramas. :thumbs:
I know lots of people that wouldn't touch them witha 10ft pole.

Actually NZ, seeing as I work at a very large dealer I think I would be qualified as a real Guru, and would say there are more repairs required by the V-8 Grand Cherokess compared to the 4.0L's, but hey whatever you want to believe. I would still prefer more cubes, 1998 5.9 Limited's were very nice.

We have a 2004 Liberty 3.7L V6 with 40K miles and have had no troubles.  The things I don't like are the short seats bottoms and we have a slight vibration at 40-45mph and the auto transmission is kinda noisy in my opinion...nothing grinding or rattling...it works fine but I can hear it through the floor.  Its been reliable so far, we like the power and it has a very good turning radius.

I don't post hear that often obviously, I am trying to get my Challenger together this Summer.  If I can find some TTI headers I can get the motor in and to the paint shop.   TTI's seem to be outa stock right now.  The car will appear the same as in my sig pic but will have no bumperettes and will have either rallye wheels or AR TTO's
