If you're in a garage this winter with all kinds of nasty
chemical smells destroying your body, you can do this, though there
are many other ways to do it. I put 10 pounds of activated charcoal ($22 from Amazon)
at the bottom of a 30 gallon Walmart plastic container. The container is
open on the sides. I put a 20 inch box fan on top of the container, on low
speed, and have it blow on the charcoal. It immediately starts purifying the air.
I have it in my house now, and it has removed all smells. You can stir up the charcoal
once in a while, and totally rejuvenate it in your oven every months or so. This is the same charcoal
in the filters you wear when painting, except you can purify a whole room. I'll try to post
a picture later. Basically any design will work, as long as you have air moving over the activated
charcoal. Sides of container don't have to be open. This container is just one I had laying around.
The charcoal has minimal dust. Can use them in home too for stinky rooms, like a teenagers!
